Purpose

Take responsibility for final inspection and calibration, ensuring Gulmay standards and requirements are met.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Carry out final inspection, ensuring production goods meet the required standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective measures taken.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Create and update quality documentation, including inspection and rejection reports.
  • Scan and file all job packs.
  • Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on quality trends and potential process enhancements.
  • Manage the overall calibration process, including internal and external calibration.
  • Report tools that are faulty or outside calibration specifications.
  • Maintain professionalism and provide support within the department and across the business as reasonably required.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and relevant legislative requirements.
  • Undertake other responsibilities or tasks as reasonably instructed.

Person specification

Essential requirements

  • Quality inspection experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications and relate them to products to determine conformity.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
  • Ability to measure parts using basic metrology concepts and record measurements against drawings.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Confidence in inspecting and measuring parts accurately using the most appropriate methods and equipment.
  • Good computer skills, including competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

Desirable requirements

  • Knowledge of electronics or mechanical engineering.
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
