The Role

Gulmay is looking for a PCB Technician to support the manufacture, assembly, modification, fault finding and repair of PCB assemblies for production and customer spares requirements.

The role involves working with electronic assemblies, identifying component requirements, supporting production demand, maintaining high standards of quality and ensuring products are prepared in line with Gulmay’s required processes and standards.

Location

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture of PCB Assemblies in accordance with demand levels to suit Production and Spares requirements, including PCB optioning to generator specifics.
  • Identify part requirements for PCBs, assemblies and provide Purchase Requisitions to enable the parts to be ordered in time and in the correct quantities.
  • Check stock and modify boards to correct version where necessary.
  • Fault find, repair boards when required.
  • Support demand using Kanban Call-Off Cards to call off demand with parts suppliers.
  • Ensure that goods received from suppliers correspond to those ordered and agreed with suppliers (correct parts, correct quantities, correct version status, correct labelling, and correct packaging).
  • Escalate any supplier / subcontractor issues to the Cell leader/ Supply Chain department as required.
  • Support, set up and maintain storage systems for PCBs.
  • Set up and maintain suitable tooling and production equipment for the production of PCBs.
  • Manage the production of collection and labelling of parts to satisfy all Customer Spares Orders.
  • Operate the Company’s ERP (Winman and Fred) system to establish work plans, print out Parts Lists, Manufacturing Orders, and Shipping Lists etc as required.
  • Escalate any production issues to the Production cell Leader or Production Manager as required.
  • Provide the products to the customer cleaned, labelled, marked, and packed to the high standards demanded by Gulmay.
  • Maintain the workplace with a high degree of tidiness and cleanliness using 6S disciplines.
  • Undertake all other reasonable requests that are made by the business, including cover in other production department cells.
  • High power switch mode PSU Electronics experience and fault finding to a component level.
  • Hands on analogue/HV/power electronic experience.

Essential Requirements

  • Skilled at soldering to IPC 610 standard preferred.
  • Understand the engineering change procedure and version numbers.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage varying workloads, ability to communicate effectively across all departments and all levels.
  • Must be a good communicator and team player, that can also take on other responsibilities or tasks whenever reasonably instructed.
  • Experience of working towards tight deadlines.
  • Computer literate, bar code scanning exp.
  • Possess a record of problem solving and achieving tangible improvements to processes and products.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in root cause analysis preferred.
  • Experience in a high voltage generator industry or similar preferred but not essential.
